BABY WILDLIFE SEASON IS HERE!!!
Spring is around the corner, which means baby season for many wild species. From tiny red squirrels kits to fluffy screech owlet's, young wildlife is starting to make an appearance - and sometimes these little ones end up on the ground. Don't panic we are here to help! Many of these babies can be reunited with their parents.

First Rule: Do NOT take babies home!

Keep pets and people away - This gives the parents the best chance to reclaim their baby
Nature does an amazing job at raising their own young. Keeping our wildlife wild will give them a beautiful and free life. Always reach out to a licensed professional FIRST before acting. They are trained to make the best call for the animals safety.

IF YOU FIND A BABY ON THE GROUND:

Call a licensed wildlife rehabilitator FIRST! They can guide you through the next steps

Assess the situation - Is the baby injured, bleeding or cold? If so, they need professional help immediately.
FOR SQUIRRELS:

If the Baby is warm and uninjured, place it in a small box with a warm (NOT Hot) heat source, like a rice sock, and give mom time during the day to retrieve her baby
FOR OWLS:

If the chick is mostly fluffy and uninjured, a professional can help determine if a simple “renesting” is possible! The chicks parents are often nearby and waiting.

Do not give them any food or water
We can't do what we do without you! Please help us, help them.
